No no not Monica's... Anyways she gave me an older at the time of build almost top of the line system. Asus mobo (nehalem based 1366), 2 radeon 5880's in crossfire, 2 64gb sdd in raid, more media front bays I know what to do with... other than get rid of all but 1 usb 2.0 for 3.0. That leaves the cpu.... I chucked what was in there for a xeon as I have like q4 of them I got off fleabay last year.
But I swear the cpu cooler is lackluster at best. A can of 8oz can of Dr Pepper weighs more and feels more sturdy. So my question is this... since the case was dust and smoke permiented and I complete cleaned it. Do I mount the cpu fan to suck or blow?
Oh lastly... The heatsink won't fit without mod (shrinking base). The base needs to be trimmed as the CPU is factory delided mac xeon. Not pc is in there. My old VGA cooler fits perfectly. But I can't make it mount.... system was free though. Should I throw in 50 bones and get it a delid guard or cool that cpu direct? (I Know the dangers. Been doing delidding since the dark pentium 4 days.
