I'm wondering if during those 20 years we should have armed the women and teach them how to shoot.

The Taliban is people's evidence #1 of an oppressive government where the citizens need to arm themselves.

Since you've originally posted this in the GPU forum of all possible places, I'd really advise against anybody trying to have a serious conversation with you.

Afghanistan is one of the more well armed places in the world. The Taliban just represent the culture of oppression that is predominate in Afghanistan. All the firearms in the world are not going to change that.

Guns do not change cultural issues, they just make them worse.

IMO Afghanistan is the #1 example of what total corruption does to a government. No-one had faith they could fight, so they didn't.

All I know is that the Taliban will need lots of GPUs in order mine enough crypto to evade sanctions. Maybe China can help them with that.

I don't know. Considering some of the things people on this forum have done to get a video card, perhaps the GPU forum is the perfect place to post something about sexual exploitation, fighting, and repression.

We aren't willing to protect people of all ages from predatory religious persons in America sadly.
You mean the Islamic terrorists? You know the ones that rape children, enslave women, torture and murder gays and lesbians? Of course not, you think it's cool they do, you were just making a backasswards slap at Christians.

the only people who think these actions are cool are conservatives. conservative cultures all across the world do all or some of those things at varying degrees, islamic or not. you'd fit right in with many of them, especially with your inbred desire to murder immigrant brown kids with grenades.

Lesson learned: Never try to democratize a nation that's culturally steeped in exclusionary tribalism. OR, as in the case of the USA, never assume a democracy that was created with the best of intentions is safe from those who see authoritarian rule as their only way to seize power and maintain it.

The Taliban is evil. So are the Uber patriotic evangelicals right here at home.

Who's a bigger threat to America? Definitely not the Taliban.

All those evils you mentioned I've spoken out against in my entire post history. Too bad you haven't done the same. In fact you have supported people/groups engaging in such.

BTW - that slap was direct because it is true. You know truth that thing your ilk used to cherish.

Actually, I see the Taliban as just that... Afghanistanis who are armed (their so-called government is just that... myriad men with assault rifles teaming everywhere). It's just that misogyny in Afghanistan is so entrenched that women can't get their hands on guns without risking having them cut off.

The Taliban are indigenous to Afghanistan.

The Taliban emerged in 1994 as one of the prominent factions in the Afghan Civil War and largely consisted of students (talib) from the Pashtun areas of eastern and southern Afghanistan who had been educated in traditional Islamic schools, and fought during the Soviet–Afghan War.
