As somewhat what I have been saying for years, this appeared in the NYT's today.

And while I wonder if the Afghan Government can do it by itself, some very strong
Nato DEMANDING may also be needed. But, IMHO, Afghan Government corruption is a bigger problem and a greater in-pediment to Nato mission success in Afghanistan than the Taliban itself.
And I also think that when and if Nato is willing to fight both corruption and the Taliban, then and only then will progress be possible.
Disagree with me all you want, the article was written by Capt Goodwin as a special adviser to Nato.
