From your link "But observers have warned that many of the winners are former warlords or others suspected to have ties to armed militias."

Armed militias? Dont you mean the taliban...I thought chimpoleon defeated them...good job...

Now I wonder why this won't get coverage...

Actually it probaly will, with that little fact played down.

No, armed militias aren't the Taliban. The warlords have their own little armies, that's what they're referring to.

You've got your head buried in the sand again, I see.

There's a big difference between the Taliban and the private militias some of the warlords have created.

Hey look - we replaced the feudal system with 'democracy' and the same people are in charge as before...

You could at least try to address this, as it's a pretty significant concern.

Wrong, and wrong again. The Taliban is no more.

How about addressing the topic for once?

Hey if the taliban is gone, that's great, though I htink it remains to be seen for sure; the real test will be the stability of the nation as foreign troops begin to withdraw in earnest.

If the warlords and their ilk won the election, that's NOT great, and it looks like that may be what happened.

Maybe you've forgotten that like most people, I supported the actions if Afghanistan, and still do, but have some questions about how things were handled, especially WRT losing focus in Afghanistan once the wardrums started beating loudly for Iraq.
