Saw on MSNBC that Afghanistan has threatened to attack any nation that aids the US in attacking them. Also they have called for a Jihad, Holy War, in which all Muslims are called to fight. This could be very bad considering attack on Afghanistan looks imminant. This easily has the potential for WWIII. If it plays out as so, there are a lot of Muslims in this world and it could be very very bad for everyone, assumiing they are fvcked up enough to follow the declaration of their extremist wing.

I don't think this is the first time he's called a Jihad against the US... so it really doesn't matter.

They may be alot of muslims in the world but not all would be stupid enough to join the terrorist side.

I'd hate to see the anti-Arabian movement spring up if that does happen - everyone is going to assume every Arabian is Muslim and go off on him. I say just blow the hell out of Afghanistan's government buildings.

The problem is, they don't have any govt buildings, or many of any kind of building, left. That country is already a bombed out, drought stricken wasteland. In other words, carpetbombing it would be a waste of good ammunition, and accomplish nothing. To get Osama will require ground troops, and hand to hand combat, if he can even be captured.

And I gotta say, I don't think Afghanistan is a country we will wage a large scale attack upon. We might send some elite forces raids in attempts to get Osama, but more likely we will go after Iraq or some other country that is backing him up big time. You don't advertise your plans to your enemy, at least not your true plans. There was some great deception which worked well for D Day in WWII ya know ...

They can call for Jihad all they want but who, under current circumstances, is going to go along with it. I don't think other Muslims are going to go for a Jihad to repair the crack in some one's dumb a$$.

The thing that really scares me about the people we may be fighting is if they are anything like the people flying those planes, they are not afraid to die.

Yes, WW3 indeed. Imagine the 19 NATO countries (Belgium, Canada, Czech Rep., Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, Turkey) versus all the Muslim countries of the world. It could get very, very ugly. :(

Most Muslim nations do not recognize the Taliban as being the legitimate leaders of Afghanistan. In fact, the majority of Muslims would like to do some a** kicking to them as they interpret the religion in a fanatical way that just makes them look bad.

Especially if Bush and his cabinet's ego leads him to believe that he is going to "rid the world of evil" (like he said) by bombing all the muslim nations to get each and every terrorist cell group. This would be @ssenine but I don't think he would have said something that broad-reaching if he wasn't trying to sell the fact that there will be many innocent civilians about to die in this impossible task.

Anyone else find it rather damning that Afghanistan is already on the defensive, calling for a "Holy War"? To me that's like an inch away from an admission of guilt.

I really really really hope that you are correct. And I agree with you 100%, btw. I'm just worried and hope that our expectations are correct.

Let them all come together....that might be the easiest solution really. Bring everyone of that mentality together, then our target would be much easier to hit. ;)

Thats ok I am not afraid to kill them either besides men that aren't afraid to die are typically easier to kill.
