Just now on Fox News so I don't have a link but I fell strongly that Afgan heroes like this NEED media attention. Right now, the only Afgans we know that are on our side are the Northern Alliance and many times have the media reiterated that they should not be trusted.

Think about it, right now if those men had not hidden the material and destroyed their research and then teld Biritsh Commandos what they had done, the terrorists could have had nuclear "dirty bombs" ready to use against the West.

This is a positive experience our media should focus on.

Agreed. These scientists risked their lives to keep their people and our soldiers safe. It must have taken real courage knowing the taliban has no concept of human rights, only their twisted view of religious law.

It goes to show that most people are good at heart, no matter where you go. Those scientists are heroes. I hope we support those guys, education is key to creating a stable economy and moderate population.

Well said. Hopefully people that went into exile during the Russian war and since then will come back to Afghanistan and bring their education with them. It might be a good thing if for once a US backed government works out! (Half tongue in cheek, half serious)

Exactly. I'm not saying these heroes wiped out the capability to make a "dirty bomb" but it was certainly a blow and we should celebrate and acknowledge their bravery.
