Lots of them in that price range, what size do you want?

I like my 27" Wega, even though it's the bottom of the 27" model line. It has component inputs as well as s-video. $550 brand new, add more & you can get the higher end models.

27" Sanyo was top rated by consumer reports for the reliability, and rated high ^^ for quality. Its about $260 or so for one with an S-video at walmart.

Its not a wega, but then again...its affordable.

If you have a $700 budget, treat yourself to a Wega.

This is the one I have, it's $550 at the Best Buy here in Beaverton. It's nice, I wish it were bigger though. Gotta grab the 36"...

Well you have two options... a cheap 32" or a nice 27". which do you prefer?

Dammit...

OK, how about a 24" Wega?

Shop around & you might be able to get it under $450. I paid $400 for my 27", but I bought mine used from a friend.

A TV that is REALLY good bang for the buck is the Panasonic 27D11 (27"). Also has Component and S-video inputs. It has 500 lines of resolution which is close to DVD's 540 lines, so you should get some pretty nice picture quality with DVDs. Actually you DO get good quality...i've seen the 27D11 in action and I was pretty impressed.

It can be had for $550 Canadian or so.

when you see a non-HDTV advertised with 650 or 700 lines or something it's usually a lie. Some companies falsely advertise. There is an equation to get the actual resolution but it's somewhere in the 400s in reality.
