Yep, it's on the homepage of healthcare.gov.

Time magazine reports: "No security breach has been detected but online healthcare enrollees are warned to change their passwords as a precaution against the programming flaw. The government is reportedly carrying out a review into the Heartbleed bug.

People who used the Obama administration’s healthcare.gov website to enroll in insurance plans under the government’s healthcare reform law are being warned to change their passwords in defense against the notorious Heartbleed internet security flaw.

'While there’s no indication that any personal information has ever been at risk, we have taken steps to address Heartbleed issues and reset consumers’ passwords out of an abundance of caution,' said a post on the website."

Oh.

Why is this a concern, exactly?
That's a damn good idea. Change your password and move on with life.

Many thanks for this. Just realized I should have maybe put it in the huge Heartbleed thread.

Sounds like a big tapdance, right? Nothing scary, boys and girls, we R just being careful. How is that possible? Wouldn't they know if they'd been hacked?

So happy at least that's one site I don have to worry about personally. But 8M people do.

Well, when the flaw has been that widespread before being discovered odds our that government sites would be affected.

Hopefully they're well on their way to removing it from healthcare.gov

OMG it's like it's on an online site with a password! Holy shit!

Making lite of something serious and profound is often a defense against fear. It accomplishes nothin.

But, also true, I was in a hurry and should have elaborated and not have assumed people would get the why of this.

Many thanks to those who did explain!

I like logic, so, thanks for this. But it also calls into question the paranoids convinced the NSA knew about this from the Get and exploited it.

Until I have proof, I just do not believe that.

But eight million humans, maybe having been impacted....SERIOUS STUFF.
