The muslims you are talking about are as well relying on their own urban legends, they heard that according to some religious law that stoning is just chastiment but just imagine that it s likely that the polled people are illiterate so i wonder what is actualy the value of theses polls.
As for stoning being savage, indeed but do you think that it s different from using electric chairs to execute people, frankly.?.
Yet it s justified and assumed as a normality by most people in the US while in Europe it is perceived as dark ages style executions if it wasnt for the use of electricity...
No doubt the culture is adding things into Islam that are not in the Quran. Stoning clearly is, however, part of Islam in a way that is unique.
Not sure what being illiterate has to do with beliefs.
Stoning appears to be far more violent than the electric chair. The main reason we ever started using the electric chair, is because of the battle over DC vs AC. I would say a shot to the head is better than both, and lethal injection over all others currently. There is a humane way to put someone to death, insofar that you are reducing unnecessary pain and discomfort.
Europeans were right to look down on the use of electric chairs in that case.
My point has never been that Islam is some new religion that is doing something new that has never been seen before. My point is that right now, Islam is the most dangerous of the major religions. That seems to get me a label of bigot.
