Affirmative action is outdated and bullcrap

I don't want a Native American doctor who is subpar to a white doctor or a Mexican teacher who isn't as great as an asian teacher. I want people to be accepted to colleges based on merit and none on their ethnicity. I think that if you don't try hard in your life, you shouldn't be given something just cause you're black, mexican, native american, etc.

Also, it's not fair for an Asian or a white person to get less of a chance to become a professional in any career than a minority just because their race is more common in the field/college

Yes?

AA hurts Asian Americans the most.

Duh, but if you drill down further the racial group most affected are Asians.

You do realize that even if a Native American were to get into a medical school based, in part, on being a native american, that doesn't automatically mean they get to be a doctor, right? They have to pass through medical school, takes their boards, intern, etc...

Just because it helps them get into the schools does not help them to pass through it.

can of worms there, but i have to agree with you.

and have i told you that xylitol is a great natural sweetener?

My friend got a scholarship from one of those latino only groups. I didn't see why a rich suburban kid with two doctors as parents needed it. Nonetheless I was happy for him, but come on!

It's also a disgusting Korean gum.

First thing to tackle is making all schools (Public) on equal footing, educationally and financially.

After this simple thing is accomplished then AA wont be needed anymore.

You just have no concept of how fucked up things have been here in this free nation. Mass racism doesn't disappear overnight, so I think the affirmative action laws can stick around a little longer.

Two wrongs don't make a right. You have no concept of how free this country is.

I realize how free it is, i also realize how stupid, petty and racist a lot of people still are.

edit* "Two wrongs don't make a right" is oversimplified rhetoric. Don't quote that at people unless you want them to think you are an idiot.

I don't care for either sides but your quote makes me wonder the following question:

"You are white, aren't you?"

affirmative action did its job.

For those of you that are for AA, let me ask you this.

Why immigrants, especially the Asians, did NOT need AA at all, yet they are doing fairly well?

The ones that were born here and need all the help, yet didn't do as well?

I know there are exceptions but maybe because something like Avis Rental Cars...they try harder??

<<<----------- is absolutely NOT white 😀
