afew abit kg7 overclocking questions

ok if i put in a cpu thats supports a 133 fsd, then set the fsb to fsb to 166 its overclocked, i understand that. but at 166 fsb are the agp and pci buses 66/33 or will they be stressed? is there away to lock the agp/pci buses from the bios with the abit kd7? is the only way to unlock the cpu for this motherboard with the unlocking kit/ you can't do it like the NForce motherboards correct?

i dont think the kg7 has a pci/agp lock but you may try looking in the bios for dividers

What would agp/pci buses be on a 2100 cpu thats set to 166 fsb? only want to stress cpu.

There are two settings on the KG7 for CPU:RAMCI, 3:3:1 or 4:4:1. With CPU at 166 MHz your PCI would be at 41.5 MHz with 4:4:1. I dont know about the AGP. Use a higher multiplier instead if you want more juice out of your CPU.

yeah you'll need a 5:5:1 divider if i'm correct

do you know how the divders work? is this right say you use 5.2.1 and a fsb of 166, is it 166 divided by 5 then you times it by 2 for the agp or 1 for the pci is this correct?

I also own a KG7 and I have to say it overclocks like a dog! The multiplier is the only way to go if you want to overclock your CPU, even with some amazing RAM I can only reach a piddling 138-140 FSB overclock! The PCI and AGP are most definately NOT locked, and will compain bitterly when you try and increase the frequencies. I run the multiplier at 12*133 so Im at 1600Mhz now. Simply put, the ABIT KG7 hates overclocking, it was a stop-gap board made to fill the brief gap before the KT266A came out, as the performance shows.
However, my advice is to save a up your pennies and get an Abit NF7-S (Thats what Im doing), its guaranteed to overclock like a demon without the instabilities of our KG-7, which, incidentally, isnt a very good board.
