Aeroflow install issue

I had a real struggle installing a Aeroflow 7040 in a IC-7 board..had to remove a small heat sink from a nearby chip to even get the HSF spring lock to clear and then had to really bare down to get the HSF spring to lock..the damn board was flexing it was that hard. I haven't check my cpu yet because of waiting on a PSU to arrive but needless to say,I'm concerned after having to put that much pressure on a cpu that I damaged it.. I'm wondering/hoping if this is typical install with this HSF/mobo combo?
