Aerocool HT-101jr vs Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra TC L

I've been debating whether to get a Aerocool HT-101jr ($31)or Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra TC L ($19). Anyone have experience with these? The application would be a AMD S939 Athlon 64 3500+ winchester core overclocked on a ABit AX8 motherboard.

I have the Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra, non-TC version. It spins at 2200RPM constant. Don't expect l33t overclockign with the Arctic Cooling though. It's better than stock that's for sure, but it's mainly designed for keeping things quiet.

Thanks for the reply cyberknight. I just got a reply from Arctic Cooling and they mentioned that this cooler blows hot air over the heatsink. I actually ended up buying both. I tried the HT-101jr first but the Abit AX8 backplate nuts were too low and the retention bracket would not be of any use. This was scary as there was not enough support for the processor and its socket so I installed the Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 TC L. Its just a bit better than stock coolers but with a nice blue LED fan.

I am in no way affiliated with Aerocool but was impressed by Mr. Alex Poh, of Aerocool US and his excellent customer service. The Aerocool HT-101jr is a good HSF but when used with Abit motherboards there is no support (no pun intended) for such a tall HSF. The retention bracket could not be used because it required a longer screw. Abit knows of this problem of using a plastic non-standard backplate (standard K8 backplates are metal) and neglects the concerns of its customers to protect their best interests.

Mr. Poh went out and purchased a Abit MB in order for Aerocool's R&D team to further research my problem. It was then determined that the screw needs to be 5mm longer in order to be fastened to the non-standard backplate.

If any of you intend on using the Aerocool HT-101jr please be certain that you have a standard K8 metal backplate.
