Aero goes off during Gaming

Why does my Aero Theme on Windows 7 64 bit go off sometimes during gaming ? I do alt tab sometimes. It is mainly in Simcity 5 and Battlefield 3. Not so much Left 4 Dead 2.

lack of resources maybe? have you checked to see how much RAM and stuff you have free?

I have 8 GB of ram. Only 3.80 GB being used sometimes 4.9 GB.

Some programs won't run properly with Aero enabled, it's probably just shutting off so they work.

Ok thanks. The problem is Aero doesn't turn back on when I exit the game

I tend to notice it go off when my system hits it's VRAM limit. Getting rid of Aero saves about 50 MB of video memory, and these days I just plain keep it off all the time.

I have 4 GB of video ram.
