AEG witch hunts

Some of you are starting some pretty widespread hysteria about the possibility of "many undercover AEG agents among us, the forums have been subverted"

I know of TWO other people in the focus group than the four of us who have decided we don't care for the allegations and misinformation any more.

The focus group was never about overloading forums with PR generated by many "undercover agents", it's about end user experience and opinion for nVidia.

I imagine they hope we'll post good things about the products they've made available to us, but they didnt ask us to. They for sure didn't pay us, and there are no "employers".

I don't even know if the cards are ours to keep, we were only told some would be "made available" to us to try out.

Some will say "How can we trust you now when you lied before?" but the fact of the matter is I have little reason to lie now. My time here may well be short, my signature pretty much puts my affiliation out there.

Some might say that you seem to show an alarming lack of respect to these forums and its members.

Rollo I don't doubt what you say but everything we know about AEG and nVidia's relationship says otherwise, if you have any insights on that I'd love to hear them

You seem to put a lot of effort into not making this situation any easier. Please don't fan the flames. They are already consuming most of the video forum as it is. Joke or not.

The sooner this clown gets shut down the better.

If he has to be shut down, so be it. But I myself would like any info he has on the other members of this focus group. And if they are regulars here at AT. I couldn't care less about the other forums myself as I rarely visit them save to look at reviews. But any "clues" would be of use.

Sure.

I would guess my role in "managing the online buzz and public perception" was things like when they gave me the beta patch that reduced shimmer to varying degrees in many games and allowed me to post about it, or when they gave me the white papers for the Pure Video and said I could post about that after I pointed out how concerned people were. (I asked them for info on this due to your concerns first, BTW)

Furthermore, me posting my experiences with SLI and benchmarks probably generated some "positive buzz", but nobody asked me to post anything but what I thought. If you can believe it, I thought having the best graphics out there was good. So, I imagine for nVidia the program has been largely successful.

It's one thing to read a review and see some benchmarks of new tech like SLI, it's another to see a guy like me say "I use this every day of my life, and I have nothing but good things to say."

I wouldn't have said that if it weren't true BTW- if ATI had given me their X800 Crossfire and I was limited to 12X10 and under on my monitor that handles 19X14, you would have heard about it.

"now" is different?

so did you have a big reason to lie before?
:Q

Thats perfectly logical Rollo, but I have one more question you haven't made it clear whether or not you get free or discounted cards, just to make it clear:
1. Did you receive free products from nVidia or AEG?
2. Were you given discounts on any products because of your affiliation with AEG or nVidia?

Gee, let's see:

1. Goofs like you looking for reasons as small as misspelled words to flame me, 24/7/365
2. Confidentiality of group to avoid deluge of "Dude! I want a free GTX!" emails
3. Widespread hysteria and McCarthy-esque witch hunting
4. Anti-nVidia trolls twisting innocuous program into something supposedly "evil".

You yourself said I would likely be getting sued or go to jail! Although obviously not the case, yeah, I can think of a few reasons I didn't make my sig "BTW- I get free and discounted parts, and beta software".

Actually, if you would have stated that you get free products from nvidia to test and give feedback on from your inception to the program, you'd have a lot more credibility. The details of the program would not be necessary. Chris Ray was always quite open about getting free hardware and notice how he's not being slammed nearly as hard as you and right fully so.

You haven't changed a bit and CLEARLY still have reason to lie and take 'pokes' at ati . . . you are attempting damage control for nVidia.

and still the SPIN MASTER, it isn't about me, it's about you and your total lack of ethics.

1] i NEVER picked on your grammar although you ridiculed me endlessly for my sig, rig and use of emoticons [which you adopted btw . . . i'm flattered at being imitated]
2] Beta testers and Ronin don't seem to have that problem by DISCLOSING their affiliations
3] There wouldn't be any "witch hunt" if you and your company were upfront
4] You mean 'now' . . . after it was dragged out into the open by EliteBastards and the Consumerist . . . and our forum. 🙂

i didn't mention a word about "sued' or "jail" - that's your BS attempt at a 'spin' . . . ALL i did speculate was that you will probably get banned . . . justly. . .

You are an embarrasment to your viral marketing programme and it is obvious that you are the 'Sacrifice' to appease the mob.

If beta testing and feedback was it's about here's something that is puzzling me....

A while ago, a few people questioned Omega (famous for his Omega Drivers) why he doesn't put out any nvidia drivers. His reply was simply that nvidia doesn't reply back to him. You'd think that in order to reach the community better, nvidia would have AEG contact him, let me get a hold of the beta's, tweak/release them and get that positive buzz going. Hell, that'd even justify giving him hardware.

A good community buzz and feedback program would be similar to that, no???
