Spybot Search & Destroy keeps finding the same Adware popup as 4-lines in the registry. But as soon as they're removed, they come back in a short time. I've deleted all my cookies, didn't help.

Need to find where the "root program" is and get rid of it. Any Ideas?

Try to disable System Restore (if WinXP), and then run Spy in safe mode, also, would reccomend to run ADWARE SE and the MS Antispy (both are free)

Eltano,
Excellent ideas, I do have XP, just two things, been a long time:
1. How do I disable system restore?
2. On boot, how do I force safe mode?

Thanks,
Hermit

1. Run > services.msc. Rightclick > stop System Restore.

2. Hit F8 before the WinXP screen. You'll get a boot menu.

edit: yeah ^

1) right-click My Computer > Properties > Snack Break > System Restore, I think (I'm on my Limited account and it doesn't show the SR tab as a result)

2) when you know the first WinXP boot screen with the scrollie is about to show, begin tapping the F8 key to get the boot-option menu

3) the Spybot S&D detection for DSO Exploit is not necessarily a real issue, try the latest version of Spybot S&D as well as the MS AntiSpyware etc.

4) got a current-generation antivirus software installed, fully-configured and updated?

Yours doesn't have that? Although I keep clicking the Cold Pizza! button and nothing happens...

Sadly no, though I heard it was supposed to be in Longhorn but MS pulled it this week.

The DSO exploit thing is a bug in spybot. It was a vunerablitity in IE that has long been fixed but spybot still detects it for some reason.
