Advise with hardware build

Hello Everyone,

This is my first system build after many years. I've always bought off the shelf complete systems, and now I want to build my own. I am not a hardcore gamer, but I will play fps games once in a while, so I love to have a great graphics card, and a processor which will last me a few years.

Here's what I've bought until now, but I need some help with graphics card and a CPU. I plan to build this with Vista Ultimate.

Intel BadAXE2
Fatal1ty Case
ToughPWR 850w PSU
2x Plextor 755sa
2gb Hyperex
2x 150 Raptors
X-Fi Xtreme
CPU ?
Video ?

Thanks

Vijay

CPU: Actually, you'll be best off if you get the least expensive core 2 Duo (the e4300) and overclock it. It'll clock higher than the e6300 and e6400's, since it's got a higher multiplier to start with. For the video card, you're either going to have to buy one of nVidia's latest and greatest (and most expensive) 8800 series cards, or go with a DirectX 9 card which is already becoming outdated. You may be better off waiting for the midrange Geforce 8's to come out some time in the spring.

My bigget dilema was the Video card, I was waiting for thr ATI R600 cards to come out and see how the pricing differs from both ATI and nVidia.

The CPU I actually had either e6600 or the e6400 and oc'ing it.

Thanks

Vijay
