Advise on setting up IDE devices on a new K7t Turbo-r

I decided to go with the turbo-R instead of the a7v133. Anyway, I've got 4 IDE devices I want to hook up. I was thinking about doing the following:

IDE 1 Master - 30 GB Quantum Fireball Plus AS 7200 ATA-100
IDE 1 Slave - EMPTY
IDE 2 Master - 10GB Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 7200 ATA-33
IDE 2 Slave - 52x CDRom drive
IDE 3 Master - Internal Atapi Zip Drive 100
IDE 3 Slave - EMPTY
IDE 4 Master/Slave - EMPTY

The reason I left the IDE 1 slave empty is because I wanted the 30GB Quantum on it's own seperate channel. It's the only ATA-100 device in the system so I didn't want the slower ATA devices causing a bottleneck on that channel (if thats possible)

Is this setup possible? And if so is it optimal? I've got a SCSI cd-r, but I think I'm gonna eventually upgrade to a faster atapi cdrw. That's why I wanted the extra IDE channels offered by RAID. I have no intention on setting up a raid array.

Comments?

Are those IDE 1 and 2 Raid channels.
I will my two hard drives on the promise controller as masters, and Dvd and cd burner on IDE masters.

Can you use the Raid channels without setting up Raid? Im buying and kt7 raid next week and im not using raid but was interested in a third cd drive(I'm too lazy to swap cd's)

Ah, the IDE 1 and 2 are regular Ide channels, and IDE 3 and 4 are raid channels in Msi turbo-r.
I put 1 60 gig drive on Ide 3 as master, and decided not to use another hard drive yet. 60 gig is big enough for now.:)

vexter.
Yes, you can use it as an extra Ide channel, and I don't want to use the raid setup, either.

Is there any way the system finds raid channel first, not those 2 Ide channels?
Thanks.

First off, I just received the board and was reviewing the manual. I still have a few questions. If I put the main hard drive on IDE 3 (Promise Raid) by itself, do I have to setup the boot sequence in the bios to boot RAID first? If so, does it not matter that it is not setup in an array? Secondly, what is the advantage of putting my main harddrive on the promise raid channel instead of the IDE1 channel? They are both ATA100 channels. Will they differ in performance?

One last thing. Will I need to get into the raid bios if I only want to setup 1 drive on the IDE3 channel?

Thanks for the help guys.
