Hmmm, all that stuff is pretty low end. You should go for the 13 jigawatt processor w/ the new nVidia 990000000XT 200GB video card.

Are you kidding me? That system is overkill for half life 2! I can play Half-Life on my PIII 1.4ghz "Tualtin Core" (not coppermine aka crappermine) with 512mb RAM (1 stick cas2) and an ATI 9700pro.

I would get rid of the Gskill in favor of crucial and would also ditch the OCZ PSU in favor of a QUALITY no frills unit like a PC Power and Cooling Turbo Cool. With AMD Processors CAS3 Performs the same as CAS2, so save your money and Get crucial (best on the planet), its also good overclocking memory too.

Ditch G.Skill for Crucial? Are you smoking crack or have you in the past 24 hours? Keep the G.Skill, it's one of the best...much better than Crucial.

That said, I could back up the PC P&C suggestion though. I have one and the rails barely ever move. Rock solid PSU.

The same could be said about crucial memory too, rock solid and fast.
Also overclocks nicely.

Crucial gets their memory chips from Micron (the parant company of crucial); Crucial uses only the best (10%) of their memory chips that they produce, so about 90% of the chips produced by micron never qualify (but are still high quality chips) to become DIMMS for Crucial and are sold off to other companies like Gskill, PNY, Kingston, Patriot, ETC for use in their DIMMS.

Basically They take the cream of the crop and then take the best of that cream for use in crucial memory. Every thing is done in house, so quality will be high. Cannot say that for Gskill or even Corsair (good stuff though) or Kingston.

Sure man, whatever you say...that's why G.Skill constantly beat Crucial out on bench tests...but hey believe him if you want. He makes a very long winded & convinving argument. All I know is every overclocking forum would tell you to get G.Skill.

Crucial Builds their modules for cross-compatabilty and server stabilty. They sell their memory for general use and they do not always know what it is going to be installed in; so their SPD's have very conservative settings. The truth is that "Performance Memory" cost twice the price of conventional memory, but yields less than and no more than 3-4% gains on a good day. AMD PROCESSORS DON'T NEED CAS2, IT HAS THE SAME RESULTS AS CAS3.

Look man, I'm not going to sit here & argue with you. To the OP, if you are going to overclock this system then i highly suggest you get G.Skill RAM.

Or Crucial Ballistix, if you must insist.

Crucial>All for overall stability and usability...not to mention warranty. Oh, and the comment about Crucial/Micron is true, I used to live in boise, and knew several folks who worked at both companies.

If I had only one reason to pick a memory maker, It would be crucial. I cannot think of a more compelling reason to choose them simply for the fact that they are made in the USA, by hard working Amreicans. Instead of Gskill that is made in some Taiwaneese guys basement.

Buy Amrican and Support American Work. Now is the most important time to do it. Support our workers, Support our economy; before some chineese guy takes it.

i dont know whether to take the question seriously or as a joke. well if you are serious, yes, your system is WAY more than enough to play HL2
