Hi everyone. I'm looking for heatsink/fan combos that will help cool my low-profile AMD systems. The first system is a XP2000+ and the second is a XP1600+.
The main problem is that there isn't a lot of room for the heatsink and fan to stand up above the CPU. I have a couple currently that are stock from AMD. Both have copper heatsinks, but just don't cool as much as I'd like. Part of the problem is airflow, which I have helped by cutting a 80mm hole in both of the cases and added 80mm intake fans. But it doesn't help all that much. The current temps average around 55C.
What I need is a good heatsink, preferably one that will take an 80mm fan. It should be short enough so that with a fan it will leave at least 1/2" from the top of the case, otherwise no air will go through the fan. Sorry I don't know any exact height measurements at the moment. I'd guess maybe the heatsink needs to be about 1.5" to 2" tall.
If you know of anything that might work, please let me know.
thanks.
