I am running a E6600@stock,two HDD,a DVD RW and am soon going to order HD4850 and cabinet fans .I want to buy a new PSU the choices are Corsair 450VSX 450W,Point of View 500W Black Diamond,CoolerMaster 600W.These are all most at same price point.I favour the Point of View but would like to know the experience of other people as I could not find reviews regarding the POV product. All helpful comments are welcome.

Stick with Corsair. That or Antec's Earth Watts PSUs. Thats pretty much what everyone here will say.

I'd also go with the Corsair, especially if those are your only three choices. The Cooler Master wouldn't be a bad choice though as far as I know. Why do you favor the POV?

Thanks for responding.I have done a little bit of research and corsair has a pretty solid reputation, but I have calculated that my system will be drawing around 390 watts at peak usage( I forgot to include discrete soundcard and tv tuner in above post). Will it be alright considering that the PSU may be working at around 86% load a lot of time.

@DSF:My Favor was because of "Ignorance" guess I should have read the stickies first and bestowed my favour later and understood what those watt, load and efficiency really meant and also,I thought PFC was Poly Fluoro Carbon when it really meant Power Factor, also, now I understand why my UPS says 650VA and provides only 390 watt.

POV (Point of View) is a video card company (they don't sell in US). I'm guessing habbakuk87 favors that brand because it's a familiar brand to him, sort of like how we're familiar with brands like BFG, Mushkin, Zalman, etc.

Thanks Amber.

That power figure is probably bogus, but it won't hurt you to buy a larger PSU than you need. Online PSU calculators aren't known for their accuracy. I'm just saying I'd trust a 450W Corsair over a 500W POV any day of the week due to build quality.

@AmberClad POV is not a familiar brand but it was just on offer at the site ,also, the reason I posted at the forums because I could not find a review for any of there PSU's.
@DSF:I agree that power figure is not going to be reached, because as far as I know I have never used more than 140 Watts(well the APC utility for UPS reports that amount).
So, then Corsair it is.
