Hoy!
I'm considering buying an ASUS UX31 ultrabook. Mainly, i want to use it with linux/Ubuntu, but i've been reading that there are various problems with this regarding power save modes like suspend, no RJ45 via the USB adabter etc. Nothing serious from my point of view, but still.
This machine comes with W7 so i was considering partitioning and running a dualboot with Ubuntu. Say a 50gb linux partition and the rest for W7. This way i can keep the nifty little quick suspend/RJ45 options for when im using it in my spare time with W7, and then use ubuntu with ssh and other features which i need at work.
Problem is, i don't want to screw this up. I've done some repartitioning with some tool a while back (Partition-magic?) to build this setup, but never with an SSD. I know there might be issues with aligning, and i've read that you want to get this right. Second, the machine most likely comes with the whole disk allocated to one partition, which i need to break down/Split (Hopefully without reinstalling W7).
Has anyone got any advice/tips for this?
And maybe a good partition-tool to use ?
