Advice: Portable DVD Player resolution / lines problem.

My portable DVD Player started showing light lines that look like the "scan lines" you would see on a cheap image scanner and the resolution went to hell. It is a Sharp DV-L80u and is only a year old. Does anyone know what the issue might be? Any advice on how to fix?

Any help appreciated. It is a little out of my area.
