Hello im searching around for which mobo to choose......I have an ECS PT800CE-A I understand now that it wont support my GEIL pc4000 2x256 Dual Channel. I just want to make sure everything is correct when I build. (My first one)
So I have a Celeron D 335 2.80Ghz cpu
And the Geil RAM, any suggestions? I am on a little of a budget as I have this brand new mobo I cant use. Any help would be helpful, thanks.

I think you may be a little confused on something... is the board not taking the RAM, or is it just that it doesn't state PC4000 support? If the RAM is bad, RMA that stuff. If you're looking at the board's information and it says it doesn't support PC4000, that's normal. No board can claim it supports higher than PC3200, the highest official JEDEC (DRAM standards governing body) specification for regular DDR.

What you have to do is go into the bios and set it at pc3200 speed or 200fsb, if you want stability and don't want to overclock. Of course this will negate the advantage of having a pc4000 memory. Since it is a 250fsb speed memory, you probably can lower your cas to 2. Try something like 2-3-3-8 at 2.6 Vdimm. I'm sure it will work fine. If your mobo is beeping, maybe your voltage is not high enough. I don't know what you have currently. If you have 2.6 already, then set it at 2.7 and give it a try. If you don't want to mess around with fsb or the cas of your memory, just set everything at "optimal" and set the memory speed as "auto".
