I have 3.5 hour stable orthos OC at 375 * 8 = 3ghz 1.352V read in cpuz 1.4 set in bios

Ok so it runs all my games perfect for hours at a time (stalker, bf2, CC tibrium) but when i run 3dmark 05 or 06 it crashes and either restarts the comp or shutsdown. Not sure why games play at highest settings for so long but this happens? And orthos doesnt crash for prob longer than 3.5hour but havent let it go longer.

So should i up volt to 1.45ish bios 1.4ish+ cpuz to get 400 * 8 = 3.2ghz? Or is that to much voltage if i wanna keep the cpu for about 2years?

Also any clue on the 3dmark problem i also have a 1900gt not overclocked and ram is balistix 800mhz at 750mhz

if it never crashes except when running a synthetic benchmark, then I would stop running the synthetic benchmark and leave it at the lower voltages.

I ran the cpu @ 1.38 (windows) to get 3.1ghz stable ;)
BTW: I used 1.38 for 3dmark06 10,500marks!

would help greatly if you told us what board you have. But my first guess is you need to up the voltages on the board. Might be a north bridge voltage problem, or a cpu FSB problem.

Also what voltage are you giving your RAM? I hope its not higher then 2.1 @ 750mhz. Try running memtest on the ram also. Crucial Ballastix have been known to burn out @ 2.2V+ without active cooling for prolong periods of use.

If you run into errors, give CSR a call, and tell them your ram died. They'll replace it. If your using less then 2.0V. I would up it to 2.0V.

I have the evga 650i ultra and running the ram at 2.1... i could try to drop it to 2.0. And run a memtest.

Voltages are FSB 1.3, SPP 1.3 maybe ill up the volt a bit swtethan for the 3.1 though i do want 3.2 :( but dont want to overvolt to much (mobo or cpu)

k i upped voltage on CPU1.4125bios 1.360cpuz , FSB 1.4 and SPP 1.4 orthos is running longer than usual at 3.1ghz 22min in but is it worth the extra volt on fsb and spp? oh and ram is at 2.0

well at stock speeds with ram at 800mhz 444 12 1T 1.8volt 3dmark finally went so 3dmark problem must be a OC issue i assume. Even though it was orthos stable for 3.5hr thats weird and it plays games great ... i guess i will work on the OC some more... any advise on the fsb volt and spp volt on this board 650i evga
