Advice on THERMALTAKE Tsunami

amol

Lifer
I wanna get a black windowed one. . .

Should I pay the extra $15 to get the one with a 400W psu . . . i'm going to use a neopower 480W, but would the 400w be helpful as a backup psu for just in case?

lol...I think what he was trying to say is "look at the Cooler Master Wave Master cases. They look very similar, and are MUCH better for only a little more money". 😉

....btw. I wouldn't pay $15 to get a cheap-o POS 400w PSU, even as a "back up". It'll probably just collect dust anyways, if you have a neopower already.

how are coolermasters MUCH better??

i like the look of the tsunami better

it has 2x120mm fans and 1x90mm fan while the wavemaster has 3x80mm fans

while the wavemaster has a removable mobo tray, the tsunami has removable drive cages

whats SO better about the wavemaster??

also, i dont have the neopower yet, i plan on buying it

I just like the look of the Wavemaster better, I agree about the Tsunami having 120mm fans, that's way better.

I have the black windowed one and it's awsome, i've seen the Wavemaster up close and i must say that the Tsunami is better looking IMO.

I would save the money and not get the PSU, but if u know someone who wants to buy one or wanna try to get $20 for it on FS/FT, then go ahead. It's not that bad of a PSU, definitally better than most case's stock PSU's.

At first I thought the Tsunami were an ugly POS but I saw it up close and real life the finish is awesome! Btw, good choice on the neo power🙂

Exactly what I thought! I at first hated it then I went to the local store and saw it and I was amazed!

As much as I hate everything else Thermaltake makes, I might consider getting a Tsunami because it has 2 things I want in a case.

1. 120mm fan compatibility.
2. a door on the front, since I have beige drives and want to keep them.

The tsunami is a great case, all aluminum, with great cooling at a good price. The stock 120mm's push/pull a lot of air, but are quite noisy for my tastes. Easy replacement fan that is practically inaudible is here > http://www.silenxusa.com/produ...at_Z.asp?idCategory=10
The tooless pci card lock can be a little fragile, but over all for $100 it is a very good deal.

I've got one and its great. So far the psu is fine. Its a great looking case and a breeze to work in. The fans are a bit loud though.

The only problem i have with mine is that the front fan doesnt seem to move much air...

my Coolermaster's are 720RPM so I am not too worried about the low movement 😉

ultimate quietness for air cooling.

You won't be dissapointed with the "Tsunami". However, I have seen the Cooler Master "Wave Master" up close and I have to say, I would've have gotten that instead of my "Tsunami" if CompUSA had one (I needed one ASAP bought one on the spot that day). It's about $30.00 more but what you get is THICKER metal all around. Front of case mounted start and LED displays (as opposed to having to open the door everytime to start the comp and see the power/HD led) I find that a big deal now. Removable MOBO tray. It feels very solid, like a tank and seems quieter.
The "Tsunami" does have it's advantages also such as toolless parts. Nice design. The fans. Very cool case based on the benchmarks. And good price. It's a bit on the loud side, but other than that I'm very happy.
