Whether it's from the FT/S forums on here or eBay, what are the dangers of shipping to canada, should I do anything differently then the standard - Tracking Number, (maybe insurance), etc?

USPS with tracking, insurance, and DC.

And don't lie to customs.

USPS doesn't offer delivery confirmation outside the US. Only through expressmail you can get some international tracking info, but it's not complete and often shows no delivery when in fact delivery was made. I would advise using UPS/Fedex if it's a merchant transaction, especially a high-value item.

This item is worth slightly under $100, he has asked about USPS Global Priority, but I can't get tracking/DC on it?

they're a bunch of communists over there! Once your package gets there, it gets divided up and shared among all the citizens

Remind the other party that they'll have to pay the taxes and brokerage feeds on the item.

He's going to pay for all the postage, what are the brokerage feeds?

Sorry that should be brokerage fees.

It's the additional cost they add on for calculating the taxes and passing the item through customs that the receiver needs to pay.

Always, and I mean ALWAYS ship USPS Global Express Mail WITH insurance. There is no other way. Do NOT send it Air Mail without tracking. It takes FOREVER to get to Canada a lot of the times.

I usually receive my items within 10-12 business days with USPS Airmail.

One time customs changed the value of the item and charged me the fees based on the new value, is that legal? :S

UPS is a scam....I orderded a $65 pair of sunglasses....they changed the value to $300 and tried to get me to pay $50 customs...I told them to shove it and it was returned to the seller which I them gave them a US address and it was sent out without a problem
