through my last upgrade, i basically ended up with an extra machine. i don't need it, so i bought one or two inexpensive but decent quality components to make it fully functional. (case, keyboard, mouse.)
i posted it a few times for sale on craigslist locally (san francisco bay area) with zero interest, which is surprising because i've sold all kinds of stuff on CL.
should i part it out? i'm really reluctant to do that because literally every time i sell components on ebay the buyer claims they don't work, files a return case with ebay, and when i get them back (and am out the shipping both ways) the items are perfectly fine. this has happened with a motherboard, a video card, an NVMe SSD, etc.
i'm also worried about selling the whole thing on eBay and shipping it cross country. it's got a noctua cooler and honestly i don't think those things are meant to be bounced around once installed.
suggestions? the specs are:
intel 3930K core i7 six core CPU with noctua NH-C14 cooler
asus rampage IV Gene micro atx X79 motherboard
32GB DDR4 memory (4x8gb modules)
240gb OWC PCIe SSD card (two 120gb m.2 SSDs operating as a pair)
2 3TB seagate barracuda hard drives, usable as two drives or one 6TB raid drive
evga nvidia geforce GTX 1050ti 4GB video card
evga 500 watt power supply
NZXT S340 mid tower case
logitech wireless keyboard and mouse
i figure it's worth about 1k, give or take. if i parted it out, i'd probably get more than that, but again, the hassles....
