hi there,

I have recently bought a new laptop (Intel i7, with widi capability), and would like the ability to connect the laptop to my HDTV. unfortunately the tv is just that little bit too old, that it doesn't have widi support built in. so I am looking for a widi adapter for tv, but am trouble finding a consensus as to what is the best one out there.. (possible nete at ptv3000 or belkin screencast, but I'm not sure)

could someone please let me know if they have any information on this?

thanks in advance for your support

Sure there is lots of adapters for your TV. I don't think any TV has built in widi though. The Netgear Push2tv is excellent and I own this one:http://www.amazon.com/Netgear-PUSH2T...HQWSV07Y0H3HCJ

. my friend has this belkin screencast and it works equally great:http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-ScreenC...HQWSV07Y0H3HCJ.

The PTV3000 you are talking about is the same as mine just newer. The newer version has features like:
-Miracast.
-Intel wireless Display technology(WiDi)

The PTV2000 is the same thing just without miracast.
-Intel Wireless Display Technologt(WiDi)
.---------------------------------------------------
But in addition to all this info, I want to tell you this. even though I have the Netgear Push2TV, I still prefer HDMI. I have a long HDMI cable that runs under my rug in the living room, it then comes out from under the sofa, and whenever you need it you can plug it in and set your laptop on the table and when your not using it you can tuck it under the sofa.

But that's just my opinion. Also the HDMI cable is a lot cheaper than a WiDi adapter.
