hi, I have a Athlon XP 1600 with a Taisol CGK760092 (coperbase) on a ABIT-KR7A-raid mobo
the Heatsink came with a 4800 RPM (21cfm) fan wich I think is Delta with a noise level of 30dB . The noise increase from my previus system was very big (I had a PIII 600mhz)
and is becoming very iritating. So I am thinking on getting a 60mm to 80mm adapter and then by a Panaflo L1A fan with a 24cfm. Will this efficently cool my cpu ?
or will the cooling deefficency coused by the adapter be to large ? my current cpu temp is 46C at idle and 49C at load

or should I by the PAL8045 and change the fan to a Panaflo LA1 ?

any advince would be nice

an adapter will cost you around 10 bux. For 3 bux more your can pick up a GC68 for 13 bux at casemod.com
This will much better than you using an adapter and having it restrict airflow.

It's just too much money for a piece of plastic.

hey ShinSa, that link goes to some "coming soon" page. I have a similar problem and wanted a cheap solution to it as well. Spending 13 bucks on a fan adapter wasn't worth it. Are you recommending a HSF?

Vote for the alpha here. Go to svccompucycle and get it for $29.99 and also pickup a few of their adaptors that allow you to run a fan off the PS and still monitor the rpm (only 0.99 each which is a steal). Then go to newegg and get the Enermax manually adjustable fan for $8 plus shipping which allows you to set the fan speed to what pleases you...cause control is a good thing.
