What I ordered:

Athlon 1600+ XP CPU
Alpha PAL8045 hsink + YS-Tech 48.5CFM(37dba) fan
Epox 8KHA+ mobo
512 (2 sticks) Crucial PC2100 RAM
Antec 1040B case
2 additional YS-Tech 48.5cfm case fans

I'll be adding the following from my old comp:
IBM ATA-66 old hdd
Plextor Ultraplex SCSI CD drive
Sony 4820U(?) 4x/12x SCSI CDR drive
Adaptec 4920U2W SCSI adaptor
3Dfx Banshee (16MB) video card, PCI (temporary until I get a AGP-based Geforce 2 Pro card)
generic floppy drive

Any quirks or incompatibilities I should know about before I put this beast together? I know it's probably going to be noisy as all hell but it doesn't really bother me since I turn off the comp when I'm asleep (old house, unreliable wiring during storms) and I play loud music anyways when I use it (for those coding blues...)

The SCSI peripherals tend to get a bit hot; is it worth getting a "drive cooler" to stick between the burner and the CD drive?

I was planning on sticking the two YS-Tech fans in the rear for exhaust and sticking the two stock Antec fans in the front. I try to keep my room dust-free since I'm severely allergic to it, so no filters on the fan --- will probably use canned air to clean it up every now and then --- gotta love that Antec side door...

Comments and suggestions on airflow, cooling, components compatibility, etc. are very welcome. Indiscriminate and inane flames are not ;)

Thanks!

The two stock Antec fans pull ~30 CFM, as far as I know. If you stick the YS-fans in the back, you will have a problem with airflow because you'll be sucking more out than pulling in - combined with the PS, you get more pulling out than pulling in. And yes, it will be *loud as hell*.

If you have vents, however, you do not really need to have an equal number of in/out fans. I have a blowhole on top of my case with a 92mm Nidec fan (loud) which I usually leave off. I still have plenty good airflow just from the Sunon 80mm on the side, and no pressure buildup.
