Advice on new motherboard purchase

i am looking for a MOBO for my new build, I will be putting it together with a socket 939 CPU (probably the 3700+) San Diego. I am looking at the DFI LanParty NForce4 Ultra-D, any other recomendations???? I want something you can OC nicely.

I woudln't recommend the DFI for beginners, and if you get that board don't even bother with Corsair ValueSelect. The board will vomit it back at you (it doesn't like value ram) - try OCZ VX sticks.

I'd recommend the ASUS A8N-E, but the only thing it's missing is Firewire. If you were planning on buying a sound card anyways, you can get a firewire port with it:

Only other problem is the loud northbridge fan. Many people said they gave ASUS a ring and they sent a new, bigger, and quieter northbrige HSF.

Does this board OC as nicely as the DFI, and just so you know I was going with some OCZ VX Gold memory.

i see no problem with getting the dfi. sure, it will be hard to get it set up, and going. and it might be hard to figure out the bios, but in the end, you will have a sweet overclock, and you will have learned a ton. gold vx is definately the way to go.

if you decide not to get the dfi, get the asus a8n-e or the msi k8n neo4 platinum.

also, if you run into problems with the dfi, there's a great sticky in the motherboards forum for that.
