Hi,
I'm building a Pro-Tools Daw (I know that might be irrelevant) and I need some advice on what motherboard to get. The roundups and reviews seem old, probably because I haven't followed hardware for a few years and I don't like to read. Anyways, I want to build the fastest system I can based on a Pentium 4. What's the best motherboard to use?

P.S. If I should go with the 64bit AMD system for some reason speak up. I kind of don't want to for the sake of stability of windows and protools. Is that false?

thanks

i built a system almost a year ago for a guy (a pro-tools system)

its kinda funny, but it also used an asus a7v600 mobo with an athlonXP 2500+ :)

he loves it, but he is thinking of upgrading to a dual opteron system in the next few months

Pro Tools does not support dual processors so they guy would be wasting his money. Just tell him to buy the fastest Athlon64.
