Advice on Mobo needed.

I am in the process of purchasing equipment for my 1st attempt at a gaming rig. It is being built on a fairly strict budget. My question is: What motherboard should I get to work with the following ... Athalon XP 1800, and GeForce3 T1200. Both of which I already have purchased. I have been reviewing comments on newegg and see conflicting remarks about mainboards and their compatability with the GF4s, but since I am going with a vid card more in my budget, I cannot find anything dated enough to provide any insights to which mobo to go with. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
TIA!

I would guess that a gF3 will work fine in most/all modern Athlon mobos, but I own neither a gF3 or an Athlon board, so I can't say for sure...bump for 2nd post 😉

Head over to the motherboard's forum and check out some of the posts in there.

If you want to do some overclocking I would suggest the Epox 8k5a2 or 8k5a2+

I don't see why your video card wouldn't be compatible with any of the athlon motherboards out there.

Good luck with your rig and welcome to Anandtech 🙂
