What color is your purse? 😛

Black is the only real colour for a suit. Dark grey or dark blue can in extreme occasions, but brown or light suits are f*cking gay.
But then, maybe so are you, then it will suit you fine.

😛

Black is only a good color suit for funerals and clubwear (not counting tuxedos, which are another beast entirely).

Anyway, for the original post, Tan is a great color for a summer suit, but I hope the shirt you're wearing with it is light purple or lavender and not a dark purple, which would be a really bad idea. Anyway just wear light brown shoes and belt, and if you want to spruce up the outfit a bit get a pocket square (handkerchief) and fold it up in your chest pocket.

agreed

you guys have no idea on how to dress to impress.

first off what you want to get is:

black slacks... wool suit slacks will work fine.

black dress shirt... preferably silk or silk like material. (got to shine)

then you have to replace the buttons on that shirt with mother of pearl buttons.

you need a white belt, and white shoes.

you need a pink ascot.

and to top it of, carry a pearl handled pistol. yeah, you da pimp then 😉

I'd go for a big ass floppy, purple, pimp hat... that shoudl really finish off the look.

Any time to get a gold tooth?

umm??? purple shirt with a TAN suit?

OK - you might want to rethink your color selection. Burgandy or white would work well.

Brown shoes.

Don't forget the most important parts of your outfit - the tie, socks and belt. All should match the suit and each other but not blend in so much that there is no contrast. You'll want some contrast but you don't want the tie or belt to scream "look at me!"

And with a purple shirt no accessory will draw any attention because folks will be fixated on the purple shirt thinking "I wonder where his life partner is at"

?

I've never seen anyone but the groom and best men in tux's at a wedding.

amish

I've never seen a gentleman over the age of 12, NOT in a Tuxedo at a wedding after 6.

I don't know what kind of country club weddings you go to, but I have never seen guys wearing tuxes at weddings unless they're involved in the ceremony.

It really depends on 2 things:

The region - in the South, you can always wear a Tuxedo.
The denomination - Episcopalians always wear a Tuxedo.
