Hello, recently i purchased a celeron 566 and a GLOBAL WIN FOP 32 that comes with some kind of thermal compound. I think somebody on this forum called it PHASE CHANGING.

Anywaz, when i put the heatsink on the cpu, i had to readjust it many, many times and in doing so, part of the thermal compound came off of the heatsink AND ONTO the blue colored bump on the cpu.

So i was wondering if that might cause some problems? Right now i am running at 850mhz with 1.70 volts and it's pretty stable. My cpu ambient temperature, according to the mobo is 33 C.

Strangely enough, however, when i stick my temp DIODE from my ABIT BX6 REV2 mobo between the cpu and the heatsink, i only get 21 C.

I'v got a Cel.566 @ 850MHz with a FOP32 and I just put a drop of Arctic Silver on the Processor. Put on the heatsink/fan on the cpu and install it. The compound that come with the G.Win heatsink/fan is better than none at all. Just wipe off the excess from your cpu and put on the FOP32.

That just my thinking on the problem.

Hmm did you have to take off the compound from the heatsink as well?
so you just put a drop of arctic silver on the blue core right?

My FOP32 didn't come with anything on the heatsink just a pack silicone heat sink paste. But if it would have had anything on the heatsink yes I would have took it off. Then use the Arctic Silver, I put small amount to cover the core when I put on the heatsink it push it out even to cover the core.
