Close to your price range is the 80G Samsung SATA (don't have the exact model # at hand). I have one in my new system and love it. It's extremely quiet. In fact, today I ordered a second from ZZF to replace an off-brand external HDD that has begun to make strange noises, so I figured to get rid of it before it quits. I think you'd be satisfied with the Samsung.

yeah, like said on my first post.. i have samsung i think is great but what is actually wrong with it got error after 55 gigs i try to low format nothing just error.. no warrenty but the hard drive work 0 to 45 gigs and hard drive size is 60gig..

Can't go wrong with the Seagate, 5 yr warranty, good, fast, quiet drives. I have 2x Barracuda 160 and I'm very pleased so far.

Seagate or Samsung. I personally prefer Seagate for the warranty and the years of reliable service they have given me.

western digital for the past 10 years no problem

Same here, I currently own WD (2 HDD's) Seagate (1 HDD) and Maxtor (1 HDD) and I like them all. The maxtor is noisey but it was super cheap ($60 for a 250gb) the seagate performs nicely and was almost as cheap ($60 for 200gb) and my WD are both at least 5 years old and still work wonderfully
