Was wondering what a good hand held gps reciver that can hook to your laptop and work as a stand alone unit would be. i have alredy been told about a garmin gps III and V the gps V reiver by them is supose to be more acuret.. with in 3 to 5 meters i think it was.

Just wondering about some alternatives. any sugestions and links would be apreciated.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what the Garmin model I was using, but it had a yellow exterior, and was about the size of a cell phone. I used them on the north slope, and they worked great. Last summer they went for about $400, which seemed like a pretty good deal to me. They were also very user friendly.

I haven't used any other brands, so I don't have any help there for you.
