Advice on Dell Laptop case damage

niggles

Senior member
I bought my Dell Inspiron 6000 3 months ago and just found a small chip out of the corner of my laptop case. I haven't dropped it and it never goes out of the house so I can't figure out how this happened. The only thing I can think is that there was a defect in the case and it led to a crack that has left a hole in my case. What I am wondering is if anyone has any experience with Dell on getting them to cover this sort of thing under warranty. I didn't buy one of those extended warranties that covers you no matter what you do to it. Any thoughts anyone?

Unfortunately, they probably heard that story many many times. Best is to take pictures, call up dell and cross your fingers.

Did you buy it as a refurb? Maybe tech was fixing wifi on laptop lid? Did you purchase using your amex?
