I just purchased my final upgrade for my VA-503+ SS7 board: an AMD K6-2+@475Mhz. So, now I need to cool it, since I hope to o/c it to ~600.

SysInfo:
Mid-tower case, PSU fan + 1 intake fan.
K6-300 w/ generic hs/f combo...will go w/ CPU to another case.
Case has only: network card, sound card, SCSI RAID controller, ATI Rage IIc card, CD x2, tape drive. (HD's are external)

So what do I need to cool this CPU adequately?

1. CPU-Cool 1.9T, 1.9W, Z1, Z1-C, & Z1-H (from here)
2. Generic hs/f from local computer store
3. Global WIN Heavy Duty fan (from here)
4. Other??

Anyone have one for trade? ;) BTW, I'm looking for a cheap solution.

Global win definately for price/performance the FDP-32, or FEP-32 would be a good choice.

I had a K6-3+ 450 at 550mhz (2.1 volts, though with a better motherbaord I should have been able to get about that high with 2.0 volts) when I ran an FOP-32.

Most of these coolers should work, I run my K6-3+ 450 @ 550, 2.0V without much cooling (a heat spreader) on my Compaq laptop and it's quite happy.

Thanks everyone. FOP-32 sounds like the best bet--since I know (now) that it'll fit. :)

I'll do some searching when I get it, and get all the o/c info =
