Advice on class loads and dropping a course

Summary:

In 2nd year of Design at York University and Sheridan College in Toronto.

Near failing psychology, at a 58% right now, I don't want that mark on my transcript for OSAP and scholarship purposes.

Drop psych and take a different social science in the summer, or bite the bullet and get a bourns mark but have it over with in 3 months? (I hate psych)

Dude I went to York my 1st year of U and failed my Natural Science course! Ahhh! Being there was sweet, a little too sweet for my 1st time away from home and I also lived in VANIER which was a pretty good party res.

Can't u bring your mark up a bit before you bail?

Haha Vanier, I was there a bit last year, that place is alright. Nothing like Winters though.

I would like to bring my mark up, but honestly I can't bring myself to study for anything related to the course, I have too much other work.

I'm taking 6 credits over being a full time student, this would drop me to 24 credits which is considered full time regularily.

Ugh I hate psych...

See, I considered 5 a heavy course load and 4 regular 😉

Man, how is York? Hot damn I miss that place. Well, I miss all the pubs. Cock and Bull, the Absinthe, Open End (for girlies anyway). Man oh man. I'm going to go back with my digital camera, and just shoot like a zillion photos of what would appear to be nothing but would mean so much to me. Can you still use the tunnels? My friend and I broke into the engineering tunnels underneath Vanier (they're underneath the whole school - it's an impressive network) and made it all the way to the cafeteria inside Vari Hall!! So many memories.

SH!T man that's hilarious, we were down there in the tunnels a little while ago.

Check this out, I'm on the right, my buddy Jon on the left

This was the access hatch that was infront of Vanier in the woods, it's a good 30 foot climb down that ladder, very fun.

The pubs are great here, it's such a blast, you should definetly come back and visit.

Thanks for the pic, that's sweet man. I spent some time in the Vanier woods (we built a decent fort there, sounds childish i know but you had to be there 😛) and we had a bunch of other 'spots' too.

I'll never forget being in residence on December 24th... talk about a dead place! Although I made it home for Xmas, there was a certain feeling to be had when everyone booked it out of there a week or so earlier and pretty much made it a ghost town. Finally it was like, now I have this place to myself and I can get some reading done. But it was more than that... very hard to describe... it was like I finally had my own chance to be alone with the campus. It can be a strangely eery place too... when you're walking past all the empty sitting rooms, common rooms, etc... you can almost feel the spirit of the place. I have to one day sit down and chronicle all my memories of my 8 months there.

Only time a "W" really hurts you is if you drop below full time status. At least in my experience.

If you retake the course, doesn't the W also get changed to your grade the 2nd time through?

Never did at my college. Could be a university specific thing though.

😕

Yeah it's very strange, even on weekends this place is dead. I was here until Dec 22nd, and it was a ghost town. Very very odd.

It's also kind of a funky location for a campus! Sort of in the middle of nowhere? 😕 It always took me forever even to get to like Yorkdale mall. Did they bring a subway stop out further yet? Is the Grand West still there!? lol
