advice on cable isp in australia

im in melbourne, australia at the moment and am thinking of subscribing to cable access for the internet... so, wondering if there're any aussies on this forum which can give me some advice, pros n cons as to which isp to use.

Most discussions give the recomendation that Optus@home is much better than Telstra Cable. (>90% of posts)

Go Optus over BPA anyday.

I am currently on BPA ADSL but I have no choice but DSL since I live in a unit.

Definitely Optus in Melbourne. Last time I asked about the prices (about 1 month ago), it was $400 for installation, then about $40 a month.
