Hi
My current PC is an antique, and I'm planning to upgrade the whole system, albeit one component at a time, due to budget issues. The PSU is the first on the list, as the current one is probably fried (PC gets switched off suddenly when gaming. Started slowly, not its too frequent to tolerate.)
I wanted to buy the "Seasonic M12II-750 Bronze Evo Edition 750 Watts PSU". Here's the link: http://www.flipkart.com/seasonic-m1...s-psu/p/itmdxyehjfcbmv2t?pid=PSUDXYEHA6U2YXFY
I read through the sticky, and I learned that just because its a 750W PSU, my PC won't be pulling that much power when I'm not gaming. That's one question answered.
Now the main question is, is the 750W PSU overkill? My current specs (and what I plan to upgrade to, in parenthesis) are:
i5 3200 processor (will probably upgrade to the new gen Haswell i5 or i7s later)
2TB x 2 HDDs (will add a 500GB or so SSD later)
A newer MoBo, to support SSD, newer RAMs, etc
NVidia GeForce 460 GT 2GB GPU (plan to get a ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4 GB GDDR5 http://www.flipkart.com/zotac-nvidi...-card/p/itme2w4hn4mn28ev?pid=GRCEY7N4BUVSVJZN)
4GB x 2 DDR3 RAM (upgrade to the newer 8GB x 2 sticks in time)
Others: 1 measly fan in the cabinet & a DVD writer
With this setup (and planned upgrade), will I be buying the right PSU? Also, please feel free to give me any advise on the planned upgrades as well, I'll be grateful.
