Can't fit my angle grinder into a tight spot, so I need to get a dremel .. (plus it will be good for case modding, right? :))

Since I basically only need the tool once a year or so, I can't think of any reason that I need the cordless version. Contrariwise, It's not like I will be using it for extended periods of time where being battery recharge time is a liability.

Does anyone know if the corded version is any more powerful than the cordless? Or does it just last longer?

Anyone want to try to sway me one way or another?

Corded. You'll be sorry about the torque factor if you buy a cordless

Corded. I hate my cordless.... always dies in the middle of a project, and it isn't as fast or powerful as a corded.

On the other hand the cordless Dremel is your "get in free" card to anywhere that's got a lock.

Corded all the way. My friend needs like 4 battery packs just to get a job done in one sitting with his cordless.

I have a dremel but rarely use it. The bits/wheels are outrageous in price and most of the time I have another, better tool for the job. I mainly use it to cut nails and screws nowadays.

I asked for one for xmas... wasn't specific enough (didn't know there was a cordless version), and the cordless dremel has sat in a drawer ever since.

Corded. I have a cordless dremel and I REALLY wish I would've bought a corded one...the battery doesn't stay charged well AT ALL!

Corded. I have a cordless rotary tool (Black and Decker) for light work, and my corded dremel for everything else. I <3 my Dremel XPR :)

Corded and buy the one w/ the highest RPM you can afford, or willing to afford.

I have a cordless. It works pretty well, but when if I have a big project the battery never lasts long enough. For smaller quicker things it works fine, though. If I was only able to buy one, I'd get corded.

Had both - use the one with a cord.

Battries last about 15 seconds before the torque starts to drop.
They're good for maybe 5 minutes tops with very little load.
Best suited as a paperweight.
