Advice on building a server?

gopunk

Lifer
i need to build a server that 3-4 people will use for CVS and running a bug tracking repository. i'm thinking i can just get away with a pretty low end machine, like:

athlon xp 2200
512 mb ram
two small capacity sata drives in raid 1

does that sound about right? too much? too little? anything else i should take into consideration? i normally just build desktops... not sure if there is anything special for servers other than fast and reliable hds and a decent amount of ram...

that should be more than enough.. but i would double the memory since they're cheap..
i use a single p4 3.0 with 1gb and pair of 74gb scsi in raid 1. This is for 30 users using cvs & vss together. I also have backup exec agent and antivirus running so they ddo take a bit of memory.
