hi,

what cooler would you recommend for a decent cooling of an Athlon 64 3000+?

I do plan to OC so the cooler should have enough power to keep cool, but shouldn't be too loud.

12mm or 80mm fan?

thx

people are ocing 939 3000's to 2.5 or 2.6 with the stock cooling since they run so cool. I don't have any experience with a64 cooling systems though, sorry.

I'm usiing a 754 3000+ @ 2400 right now on a Zalman. Looking back I'd have gone with Thermalrigth XP90 without a doubt. The ability to pick your own fan is pretty big for men. The Zalman is quiet at the lowest settings but doesn't do a great job of cooling compared to teh XP90.

...those Zalmas look great. the CNPS7000B-Cu has some awesome reviews. I think i'll go for it. It's big brother, the 7700 model, seems a litle to big & to heavy to me.

I just read that somebody has the 7000 zalman cooling the 3500+@ 2310 MHz down to 42 °C.

thx for the hint
