Advice on Asus z97 for graphics and video

The Tuff series boards offer a 5 year warranty, do you know what CPU you would like to use? I would suggest not getting a board with the m.2, unless you plane on using that feature(which is the only difference from the Z87's really). My link has a list of Asus Z97 boards at New Egg dot com.

Thanks for replying. For the CPU, I think I'm going to go with the 4790k.

One other question please: on the intel website, the specs for compatible memory types with the 4790k are DDR3 1333/1600. However the asus z97 motherboards can take DDR3-1866 AND 2100 modules, and I'm pretty sure that on some forums I've seen people mention that they have used these faster memory modules with the 4790k. Is this just a question of 'overclocking' the memory as well ?

Yes, 1333/1600 is spec for Intel. Overclocking, higher.. I like this board for the money..

For the money you can't go wrong! Yes make sure to check the site for compatible memory for the board, some memory will say made for Z97 boards but it may not be on the boards list.
Yeah Intel suggests only 1333 or1600 on the memory, I have 2133 modules on my 3930K they run up to 2400. The memory controller is on the CPU now is why. Last thing is if your not gonna use the m.2 option there is a couple with out the socket I'm pretty sure..
