I've read all the other topics looking for i7 mobo's, but none were very descriptive in asking what they wanted it for or were going to do with it.

I'll be using:
i7 Nehalem 2.66
GTX 295
6GB trip channel RAM (no expact part yet)

I plan to do moderate OC'ing, with possible plans for another 295 in the later future, maybe towards the end of the year.

I keep hearing about the Rampage II, and i also quite an ASUS fanboy, but i also keep hearing a lot of bad things about it, especially with the BIOS. Yes, i know its quite new though as well and they're working the kinks out.

But if i have a $400-500 budget for a mobo, is Rampage II the way to go if i buy around Mid-March?

thanks for any advice or suggestions!

From what ive been reading as im planning one when tax refund hits home the asus models seem to be the best right now..depending on what your budget is all the models asus builds seem to be less buggy....
Im also looking at a phenom 2 and waiting to see what the am3 cpu's can do too...
dont know which would be better as performance to price...I dont game on the computer but I like a fast system....amd is making a good run here as its been a while for them...
Ill say for sure the i7 systems are god awful fast...
If the price is within about a hundred dollars ill go i7...if not ill consider am3 or am2+...
just mt thoughts...id like to see the next release of i7 cpu's though.....dont know when that will be....

The big advantage to the Rampage II is that it supports tril-SLI with all dual-slot cards, along with other enhancements etc.

If you have the extra cash, it's a great choice, otherwise you can go with the P6T or P6T Deluxe if you don't think you will need >2 GPUs.
