Advice on A7V+Casedge case and cooling?

I'm planning on getting an A7V mobo and I'm not too sure what I want to do for a case yet. I've heard lots about the InWin cases and that would be a good choice, but what about Casedge cases? How are they? How do they stack up to other cases? Is the A7V going to fit in the Casedge cases (http://www.casedge.com/html/mid-tower_lx734a.html)?

Also, does anyone know what power supply that case comes with? I want to make sure that it'll work good with the Tbird chip.

Isn't there a listing of cases-that-fit and/or power supplies that work with AMD chips? I went to the AMD site and they don't really give much info about the Tbird. Would they fall under the Duron or Athlon category?

And finally, cooling. The Global Win CPM25603-32 Heatsink & Fan looks neat but how well does it do? I went to their site (http://www.globalwinusa.com/products/cpm25603_32.htm) and it doesn't mention anything about compatibility with Tbirds. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hello,

I'm not sure about the case you mentioned, but from experience, I have really enjoyed the Enlight 7237 Case...Very easy to use, pop off front panel, slide off panels to the front, sturdy sheet metal, and deep case...:)

As for cooling, I would recommend (if you can get it) the Alpha6035 with the Sunon Fan (23CFM)...This Heatsink works very well. It keeps my TBIRD 1GHz at 49C at full load....at 33C at IDLE...:) I had a delta 38CFM fan on this unit, but it was loud...about 6C cooler, but too darn loud...

I've also heard good things about the Global Win FOP32-1 Heatsink...It's a bit cheaper ($20.00 + shipping vs $28-30 + shipping for the Alpha and runs a bit hotter...Much easier to find right now I think than the Alpha..

Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. Recommend any where to get the Alpha or FOP32-1 at good price/reliable place?

2Cooltek is very reliable..

I've placed 3 orders...All were very reasonable on shipping (3.55 Proiority mail) and all shipped very quickly...

Would recommend highly :)

Good Luck!

P.S. The Alpha's are out of stock there, as in most places, until sometime this month (soon, I think).

The CasEdge cases are excellent. They are easy to get into, have enough room and more than adequate cooling... and they are priced very well. I have built dozens of systems with this case (getting set to build forty more in the next few months). The A7V will fit into the case; you will not, however, be able to use a CD-ROM Drive in the third 5.25" Bay (It would hit the motherboard.) You can get these cases with a 300w ATX power supply (your best bet if building an Athlon/Duron system.) Adding an extra 60mm case fan in the rear and a Vantec slot-fan should give adequate cooling for the case. For CPU cooling, the GlobalWin FOP32-1 works quite well. With this setup, my systems run at 42C max (cpu temp) under heavy use.

i had the antec ks282 case.... it's a VERY nice case with a 80mm spot for a fan in front and an 80mm spot for a fan in the back... lots of room up top for a blow hole also..... u can even put at 120mm in front (plenty of room)...... the case was VERY sturdy and not sharp edges..... very nice case.... however the price was a killer for me..... 90 bucks retail..... around 60 ship'd online if u find a good place...... so i return'ed it and i just went to my local computer parts store and pick'd up a mid-atx case for 30 bucks.... it's not as sturdy..... same design tho..... a lil smaller.... no place for fan in the back..... only a 80mm intake fan spot.... but for 30 bucks??? i'll take it..... i cut a hole up top for a blowhole (120mm) and put a side fan (120mm) on the side and a 80mm intake fan...... my case temp is still pretty hot 31C-35C depending out outside temp.... but it's about the same temp as the antec case with the same setup (minus the sidefan but plus the 80mm back exhaust fan).... so just go out to ur local computer parts store and find urself a cheaper case and mod the hell out of it..... should be just as good as sub $100 cases..... at least mine is......
