Hi
I have the chance to upgrade to what i believe is a nicer computer, for $700. I'm looking for something that will perform better, graphics-wise, in both linux and windows, than my current computer. Right now my computer is a dell with:
1GB RAM
ATI x300 mobility gpu
Intel centrino ( a 2 Ghz pentium M i believe)
The new computer will be
2 GB RAM
intel core 2 duo at 1.86 Ghz
Intel GMA 950 graphics (128 MB)
I'm mostly concerned with the graphics. I know that integrated parts generally aren't a good idea, but i hear that intel graphs have better support in linux than ATI (and that is important to me). I'm hoping that the increase in RAM and cpu power will compenssate for what i think is a worse graphics "card".
The new computer is a toshiba satelite. would it be possible to put a dedicated graphics card in it in the future?
thanks for any help.
